Wat is mean by Juxtaposition ?

Juxtaposition can be define as an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, for comparison or contrast. Simply stated, with then intention of bringing out a specific quality or creating an effect, particularly when two contrasting elements are used is how this art are usually done. In the end, similarities or differences between the elements can attracts viewer's attention.

Also known as : collocation, juxtaposing, juxtapose

It may also refer to :Juxtaposition (literary) --- contrast, two objects or texts that synonymous to oppose one another

Application of juxtaposition

It can be use in many way to bring out the idea and concept by just showing the image to public.

The image above showing an advertisement that use juxtaposition to advertise. This simple image has bring the meaning that the condo is so big that can fit in anything just like an egg which capable to put an elephant inside. Public can easily get the meaning with just a simple look at it and this show the power of juxtaposition !!!!

Associated Mind Map

After attend for last week class, we have learn about mind map and also the differences. In the class for this week, our lecturer had given a3 size paper to every student and ask us to sketch out the crazy idea that refer to mortar and pestle by using the key words that have show. It was quite fun as the lecturer throw a paper made ball which will decide student to share out his idea whoever get hit by the ball. We pass through the learning process in a happy and joyful moment.

The picture below is the idea of my sketches :
The five key words that i have use is race, money, design, music, exercise.

The keyword for this picture is race, by using a bigger mortar and pestle we can organize a race competition in water. The mortar can use to represent the body of the ship while the pestle can be use to push the ship forward.







This picture is represent money, find the changes of money is important to every business shop and so when apply to mortar and pestle, changes of money can be made when getting big value of money into the middle of mortar and use pestle to break it to smaller value.





Keywords for this picture is design, the pestle can use as the stand for the lamp and the mortar is the body of the lamp. This maybe the lamp of the future...who knows ? haha








This picture represent the music, with the combination of the pestle as the holder and mortar as the trumpet head. An music instrument has been made and music can be produce.








The final picture is about exercise. The concept is just like any gym use metal handler where the design is change to mortar as the main part of weight and the pestle is function as the handler.

Method Of Creative Thinking

I believe that all of the design student must have heard about mind map before. A mind map is a diagram which form when the central key word or main idea are linked to and arranged around by the represent ideas, words, tasks, or other items. Next, we also have been teaches to use mind map as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision and writing because it can bring many advantage to us such as generate, visualize, classify ideas, and structure. I found that this method really can bring benefit to us as we can easily recall what we have written down and so the learning process will be much more easy for us.

Right now i going to show an example of a mind map :

Not only that, mind map can be break down to 2 different part which is logical and associated mind map. At below i'm going to post these 2 mind map to see the differences clearly.

Logical mind map is directly connected to stereotype and this mean that all the words, images, ideas, or items that have put inside are directly related to the central key word or idea through the link.

Associated mind map is a diagram that use random words, images that linked together to central key word that don't have connection at all

Introduction to stereotype :
a.) a method of producing cast-metal printing plates from a mould made from a forme of type matter in papier-mâché or some other material
b.) the plate so made
c.) another word for stereotypy
d.) an idea, trait, convention, etc, that has grown stale through fixed usage
e.) sociol a set of inaccurate, simplistic generalizations about a group that allows others to categorize them and treat them accordingly

Bio : My ambition is to become a comic artist but unfortunately my drawing skill are not good so i have choose to study graphic design course at TARC which i got interest in it. As you all can see here although the words that's been use is quite rude but in the mean time it has give a good point as well. Everybody sure can have an idea when think of something. The only difference is just whether the idea is nice or very sux. Furthermore, we must work hard to that we can have a more creative mind in order to generate a better thoughts and if we just leave it there and don't think much for sure we will never become better in the future.

Novelty, Creativity, Innovation and Invention

After attend for lesson 2, the class was teaching about 4 main words, these words contain various meaning and history that have give a huge impact to me and at here i'll start to intro them 1 by 1

{ Novelty }

Novelty is mean by breaking through traditional teachings to truth and the world of life, and so it is created by something new or unusual. It has been useful to humanity in producing things through out the ages.

With this knowledge, novelty has been use to create many new things like novelty item, dance, show, song, architecture and many more that has great significance to the society.

{ Creativity }

Creative is the act of turning new and imagination idea into reality and it has involves 2 process to complete it which is thinking and producing. In the other hand it could be say as if you don't produce it and left the idea aside is just mean that you are only imaginative and not creative at all.
When we look back to the book of history, we can found all kind of creative work that have been created through different time and years which will not forget by the people as it has give so much of impact !!!

Thus, we use creative in every aspect of our life everyday and this show how importance creative to us . =)

{ Innovation }

Innovation is the production or implementation of ideas. It is also a action which will result in in an improvement, gain or also profit. Not only that, social and economic value can be achieve with the intersection of invention and insight.

The rise of large corporations dominates much of the narrative of 20th-century business. Yet many of the innovations that have advanced industry, enlightened society, and deepened culture sprang from small companies.

Finally, Innovation play an important role in several topic such as engineering, sociology, technology, design, economics and business.

{ Invention }

An invention is to generate ideas and the create a new thing that have never seen before. Besides that, innovation and invention are a concept or though of opposite but then sometimes it is possible to only have one way to happen.

Look at all the things around us and we will know that is all about invention and i believe it has the longest history when compare to others.

The conclusion is invention is a process that important to us in order to let us live in a better life by having the new technology to help us in any way that consider a challenge.
